"e-Atlas" Receives National Recognition as Brownfield Inventory Tool
e-Atlas is a web-based Brownfield Inventory GIS tool that leverages ESRI's
ArcGIS Server and Laserfiche's Enterprise Document Management software
technology into one useful application. The tool was developed by
Symbiont for Elkhart County
as part of the Counties Community-Wide U.S. EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant.
It allows users with simple access to hundreds of thousands of current
and historic records about facilities throughout Elkhart County that have
used hazardous and/or petroleum substances. The tool and has been essential
in identifying, analyzing and managing potential and existing brownfield
sites throughout Elkhart County.
